The ‘Lifetime’ abuse numbers for those under 15 years of age

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) found an alarming number when it came to childhood trauma. In 2016, 13% or 2.5 million adults experienced physical and/ or sexual abuse during their youth which is equivalent in percentage terms for 1 out of every 6 women (16% or 1.5 million) and 10 men (11% or 992,000) who had been subject to such maltreatment before age 15 years old.
These distressing statistics suggest that, in order for us all to have better lives and opportunities going forward from now on, let's make sure not one person goes without help during these hard times. We need all hands on deck for an increased effort towards providing these vulnerable Australians with support.
